Local Cafe has Dragonfruit on the menu
February 8, 2006 // 3 CommentsAre you ever driving between Cairns and Innisfail? Think about stopping at the Bush Tucker Cafe and trying his dragonfruit ice cream and cheesecake. Fay Adams has found this place on her travels with Ruth Lipscombe and recommends it.
The Bush Tucker Café is located on the Bruce Highway, opposite Bellenden Ker, half way between Gordonvale and Innisfail. You can stop here for breakfast, lunch or just a rest and a cup of coffee.
The menu has some interesting rare fruit dishes: Dragonfruit Cheesecake; Macadamia icecream and dragon fruit icecream, and dragon fruit smoothies.
There are toilet and shower facilities available, so think about stopping for a rest, and say hello to George Kemeridis the owner.
